Rock Cats Baseball Rocks--These Cats Rock!

Last night we went to our first New Britain Rock Cats, the AA Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, game of the 2008 Season. We always enjoy going to the ballpark with Pepe and Meme. The kids were really happy because Aunt Valerie was home from Boston and went with us too! While we were there we, Linden Street School, had an opportunity to hold the HUGE American Flag in the outfield as the patriotic songs were sung before the game. It was a great experience, the kids LOVED being on the outfield where the baseball game is played! Shaun helped transport the HUGE flag on and off the field. The kids thought that was pretty special. It was a super fun family night at New Britain Stadium!!

Memorial Day Weekend!

I can't believe tomorrow is Friday already and I haven't posted pictures from our Memorial Day Weekend! UGH! This week has flown right by! Here is what we were up to on Memorial Day Weekend.

Saturday-Anneli's Princess Party
We were delighted that our family from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and New York were able to come down to Connecticut and celebrate Anneli's 3rd Birthday and Aunt Valerie graduating from Boston University with us! Thanks for making the trip everyone--in Anneli's words, "It was so much fun!" Anneli's Little Mermaid Cake

What a long hard day...

Shhhhh....naptime!

Sunday- Family Trip to Kent Falls State Park

On Sunday afternoon we took a trip to Kent Falls State Park. It was warm and the park was crowded, but we had a fun time as a family. We hiked up to the top and got some nice pictures of the falls! Good walking guys!

Monday-Marching in the Memorial Day Picnic and going to Lake Compounce.

Monday Christopher and Shaun marched in the Memorial Day Parade in town with Christopher's Soccer Team. He had fun, marching with his friends and throwing candy to parade spectators. It was a beautiful day for marching--not too hot and not too cold. It was just right!

Christopher's soccer team. Yeah--there are two other boys, but they didn't march--so it was Christopher and all the girls!

Anneli and her friend A picking up candy on the parade route.

The Plainville Soccer Club!

Meme & Pepe watching the parade from the second location!

Marching past the library...the last leg of the parade--even Anneli marched at the end!! (Christopher is #3)

After the parade we went back to Meme & Pepe's house and then jumped in the van and headed to Lake Compounce. Lake Compounce is a super fun amusement park one town over from us in Bristol. We buy season passes and go there quite a few times during the summer to swim, ride rides and sometimes to just walk around! The kids absolutely love that place!

That was pretty much our long Memorial Day weekend. It was super fun and went by way too fast! I love long weekends!

Field Day!

As soon as Christopher got on the bus today, Anneli jumped in her stroller and off we went to Christopher's Kindergarten Field Day at school. It was such a beautiful day! I'm so fortunate to be home during the day to be able to go and share these special times with him. He (and his friends) enjoy having me come to participate and help. Thanks Shaun! Anneli loved it too because she could join in with the Kindergarteners. Heck, she thinks she's one of them! The best part for Christopher would have to be that his class beat the other two Kindergarten classes at Tug-o-War! The 13 kids in Mrs. Hooper's class are super strong! Anneli's favorite part was the orange popsicle she had at the very end. What a great day! :)
