We got there and ate a super yummy lunch!! Thanks Uncle Jimmy!
Then we piled into the van and headed to Bellinger's Orchard with Aunt Donna, Uncle Jim, Soup-Mem & Ray. Thankfully the rain had taken a bit of a break so we started out picking apples--all different kinds of super delicious apples! After picking TONS of apples, 2 1/2 bushels of apples to be exact, we decided to check out their Corn Maze.
The kids were pretty excited. The corn maze at Bellinger's Orchard is a 5 acre bat! As we went through the 'Bat Maze', we were on a scavenger hunt, looking for "letters" hidden in the maze. We had to collect all the "letters" and unscramble them. The only clue was that the "letters" were to spell a word associated with bats. We went running through the maze (in the pouring rain!! Of course the rain started as soon as we started our Corn Maze Advenutre with Aunt Donna & Uncle Jim!) collecting the letters. We got all the found all the hidden letters : "l, t, n, o, c, e, h, o, a, c, o, i", but unscrambling the word was difficult, until Christopher said, "Could it be "echolocation"? That's what it was! Way to go Christopher!!! What a smarty pants!!
As we finished the corn maze, the rain stopped and a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky.
Look how muddy the kids were!!!!
Since the rain died down a bit, we decided to pick some pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. It was a little muddy, but it was a lot of fun going through the field trying to find that 'perfect pumpkin'! We found three of them to bring home! :)
The next day we piled into the van with Aunt Donna and Uncle Jim to the Utica Zoo. We were watching rain clouds the entire way, but the weather held up while we were there! YIPPEE! It's a cute little zoo with over 200 different animals. We all had a great time! Especially when Uncle Jim and the kids got the Gibbons singing and carrying on! Crazy monkeys!! ;)
