Memorial Day Parade!

As usual, we stuck around this weekend so we could march in our local Memorial Day Parade. Anneli was excited, because it was her first time marching with Girl Scouts! She didn't have to march with Cub Scouts! We woke up Monday morning to rain. A few hours later, just when the parade was supposed to begin, a thunder and lightning storm went through. Many towns around us canceled their parades, but not good old Plainville, they just postponed it for an hour.

When we stepped off an hour later, the weather was okay---a little rainy, but so much better than an hour before. By the time we came to the end of the parade, the sun was shining and it was sooooooo hot and humid!

Lake Compounce FUN!

We know summer is here when Lake Compounce opens up for summer amusement park fun! Today we went and purchased our 2011 Summer Season Passes to Lake Compounce! It's always a fun day, knowing that summer is on it's way! YIPPEE!! We have gotten Season passes to Lake Compounce since we moved here to CT when I was a kid!






It is always a fun day--even if I'm not a big fan of most of the rides!!

Running Club 2011

This year Christopher joined the running club at school. Every week he stayed after on Mondays and ran with his fellow running club members. He also ran during the week with Shaun and Anneli. At the end of the Running Club they ran a mile run called the "Kids Marathon". The kids had been running and running with their clubs and finished their last mile today of their own personal marathon with parents and friends cheering them on. Memere came with Shaun, Anneli and I to cheer Christopher on this morning in Chesire.

He did a great job! Way to go Christopher!!! :)

Daisy Girl Scout Spring Hike!

Today was our Daisy Girl Scout Spring Hike a Tomasso Nature park...

Our Baby, Anneli, turns '6'!

It's hard to believe that our baby, Anneli, turns 6 years old today. Time sure flies! It seems like yesterday she was born...

Anneli was very excited this morning and couldn't wait to go to school. She made some super pretty, and yummy flower sugar cookies to share with her classmates, teachers and friends at school. Everyone enjoyed them! :)

After school we had a little party with Memere, Pepere, Aunt Valerie, Daddy, Christopher and of course Anneli's best friend Wink! (She's probably hiding under the table....)

I made her a quick Daisy cake. It didn't come out that bad for a quick 5 minute decorate.

We were planning on going out to eat for Anneli's birthday, but then last minute she decided that she wanted to eat pizza at home with a daisy cake. So that is what we did!

Zumba!!

Our school rewards the kids with special activities once a month for good behavior so today they had someone come in and teach Zumba! What a great activity to get all the kids and teachers moving! Super fun! If you haven't tried Zumba before you have to get out and give it a try! :)

Christopher also did Zumba that morning, but I wasn't there and didn't get any pictures...bummer!
