Christopher was home from Kindergarten today because it was Election Day and they use his school as a voting place. I wanted to do something special with him and Anneli so we ended up taking a ride to The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT. The trek there was a little over an hour, Anneli fell asleep and Christopher kept asking, "Are we there yet? Why is it sooo far away?" It was a fun day for the three of us. Christopher's favorite thing he saw was the Loggerhead or better known as the Giant Sea Turtle. He couldn't believe you can find them around here in the Long Island Sound. Anneli really enjoyed the turtle too but she was talking about the frog exhibit and the Sharks on the ride home!

Thanks "Soup Mem" & Ray!

The kids LOVE getting mail, especially cards from "Soup Mem" & Ray. Anneli loved her card with the cat on it. She said, "I love kitties and MONEY!" when she opened it and quickly ran off to find her wallet to put her money in it! She was very excited. Christopher opened his as he was getting on the bus. He handed me the money for safe keeping and took the card with him to school to share with his friends. Of course they asked him who is "Soup Mem" and he told them it's his Meme that used to make him soup in jars. We definately need to get your recipe "Soup Mem" for SOUP MEM SOUP as the kids call it! :) YUMMMMY!! The pictures above are what they bought with their money from "Soup Mem" and Ray! Anneli bought a Stuffed Turtle and Christopher bought a Lego Police Boat w/ Police Officer. THANKS "Soup Mem" and Ray--we love you and miss you both!!! We hope to see you both soon!

Halloween Fright!

Last night was Halloween! It was a rush, rush evening but the kids had a blast! We started out early in the morning going to Anneli's Toddle Time in costume. Christopher was upset because he wore a ER Doctor costume instead of his robot because I had to fix a few things on his costumer. Then he was off to school. Anneli and I picked him up after school and quickly took him home so we could all get dressed and ready for the Recreation Halloween Party! There the kids watched a Magician, had costume judging, snacks and a parade around downtown. The kids each won in their own age categories--Christopher Best Costume and Anneli the Cutest of course! :) Christopher's Robot costume was a hit all over town and at ever party we went to this year! Great job Chris!!! We are proud of your creativity! :) As usual I, mommy, was a Scary Witch--I scared a few little ones at the Recreation Party but I let them touch my nose and my hair and then they weren't so scared of me after that.

Like NO Other Retail Store on Earth!

We are not much of the Outdoorsman Family but today we ventured out to East Hartford with Mom, Dad and Valerie to battle the crowds at Cabela's . It was a bit crowded bit it wasn't as bad as we expected. The store just opened yesterday. It was an awesome store. Just as they advertise, it's "Like No Other Retail Store on earth!" The 185,00 square foot retail showroom is rather educational and quite fun! The store includes museum like animal displays, an aquarium (that Christopher loved!) and trophy animals that are quite realistic in their natural habitats. It's overwhelming with a Restaurant inside that serves Elk, Ostrich, Wild Boar, Bison and other food that looked and smelled yummy! Definately a fun place to shop and walk around! We will be back!!!!

Saturday Morning Swim

Here are a few pics of Christopher and Anneli at swimming lessons. They have swimming lessons every Saturday morning at the High School pool. Christopher is in Level 2 with kids in 1st and 2nd grade. Anneli is in Water Bugs which is a pre-level one class. Today her one-on-one teacher Jeff let her try to swim on her own; since she is "Little Miss Independent". She did pretty well moving her arms around and kicking her little legs! We are so glad they can swim all winter!
