Shaun and I are off for a long weekend--Friday until Wednesday--while my mom and dad watch the kids. His construction team is getting some award on Tuesday in Chicago and so we decided to come a little early and spend some time in Milwaukee and then Chicago.
Today we walked along Lake Michigan, went to the Milwaukee Art Museum, took a walking tour, guided by Shaun of course, of Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) and had lunch at the Brew City Restaurant in downtown Chicago. We then just walked around Milwaukee taking in the beautiful architecture of the buildings and the sites, sounds and smells of the city. We couldn't believe how nice the weather is for FALL! Today it was 87 degrees with a light (very light) breeze off of Lake Michigan. It was gorgeous. Everything was perfect except I sort of hurt my knee working out! It hurts pretty bad! Oh well. We came back to the hotel to put ice on the knee and then to get dressed. Well, we are off to the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra at the Milwaukee Performing Arts Center downtown. :)
