Anneli's Birthday Weekend!

I imagine that as one reads our family blog entries, they notice that every weekend around here is cram packed with things to do! There rarely is a weekend where we just do absolutely nothing and relax! I guess that's what happens when you have kids! Fun, fun, fun! This weekend was no different.

Friday was the start of our weekly—whirlwind weekend; I guess you could call it. On Friday evening, Anneli had a little Birthday Gathering at MeMe & PePe's house. She was sooo excited to show them the Sleeping Beauty Cake that she made with me! We were going to go out to eat, but PePe had to come home and change so we ended up eating Anneli's favorite--"PePe's Sandwiches" at MeMe and PePe's house. She had a great time! She got a cool Sleeping Beauty magnet set and a big container of Vanilla Flavored Wafer Cookies from MeMe & PePe. (They have been on a wild goose chase trying to find a "special present" for her. They won't tell us what it is! They have been searching every store in state! Hopefully they'll find it soon!) And of course a wonderful card that plays Disney Princess Music. She had a long day and fell asleep before we even left MeMe & PePe's house! Hope you had a great day my little Princess! :)
On Saturday, Shaun woke up early to take my car to have its tire fixed. I guess I ran over a nail somewhere in my daily travels. He got home just in time to grab Anneli and take her to swimming lessons, and then Christopher and I jumped in my car and raced to the park for Soccer Pictures and a game! It was a hectic morning! Shaun and Anneli got to the park just before Christopher’s game started. We watched the game—where Christopher was goalie twice, as usual! He does a pretty good job at goalie! He loves to kick the ball out of the goal area. They played against a tough team—they seemed to be older and more experienced soccer players—lots of first graders, but Christopher’s team worked hard and did very well! After Anneli had enough watching the ball being kicked back and forth and picking dandelions, Shaun took her home. We met him home after the game and took Anneli out for her Birthday Lunch!

Anneli knew exactly where she wanted to go for her Birthday Lunch. She chose her favorite restaurant Bugaboo Creek in Manchester, CT. She loves the atmosphere there and when it’s your Birthday they sing to you with a Big Moose Puppet and make you kiss it! She was so excited—and Christopher was so excited for her!

That evening, we went over and visited with MeMe & PePe. They finally found Anneli’s “special present” at the Wal-Mart in Ware, Massachusetts! Anneli opened it and it was a Princess Scooter. She wasn’t as excited as her brother was for her! He really wants a scooter! PePe has an electric Scooter that we all had a chance to ride until it was time for dinner.

We had a late dinner with MeMe & PePe at another one of Anneli's favorite restaurants, Imperial Buffet in the Connecticut Commons plaza. She calls it the "Turtle Place", because they have turtles in the foyer.

What a long day--and our weekend isn't over yet...there is still Mother's Day!
