Anneli started Level 1 Swimming Lessons on Monday. She is a little young to be in the level one class; most of the other kids are 4, but I wanted her in swimming lessons every morning so I thought we'd give it a try. Monday was rough--the teachers and I had to keep reminding her of their rule of keeping two hands on the wall at all times. Tuesday was okay--I just have to keep remembering that she's only 3 years old and that she's not Christopher. Christopher would have stayed put and kept two hands on the wall at all times. Not Anneli, when she doesn't want to do something she just doesn't do it. Yesterday, Wednesday, was so much better. There were times she needed to be reminded, but I sat back and let the two instructors take care of things. She felt like such a big girl. Today was the same, she needed to be reminded at times, but she did listen. My goal for her isn't really to learn to swim, but it's for her to go with other kids, take turns, and for her to listen. She's doing very well for her age, I think anyways! Thanks Miss Elyse and Mr. Nick! Anneli is in the pink bathing suit next to her litle friend in the green shirt.

This afternoon, Christopher was at camp, and I was puttering around, Anneli was playing and I noticed that she had a bunch of her little stuffed animals lined up at the base of our television. As I listened to her, I could hear her say, "Keep two hands on the wall at all times. When it's your turn do this." Then she would pretend to swim across the living room floor, turning around to tell Bushy Little Squirrel to "keep his hands on the wall." When I asked her what she was doing she told me that she was "playing pool". How cute, she does understand!!
Anneli is setting up her "pool class". "Reeky, two hands on the wall." (Reeky is one of her little friends.)
Anneli helping each little friend with their "back float".
This is all her little friends in the pool!
