A Sunday Afternoon of Tree & Cookie Decorating

Today was a great way to end a crazy holiday weekend. We woke up a little later than we usually do, but we still managed to make it to church early. We pretty much have our routine down pat---unfortunately we change times in January! Instead of church starting at 9am, we will start at 12:30pm. Afternoons are going to be a little harder! For us, it's so much easier to just get up and go, rather than hanging around the house in the morning. Oh well, there are definate benefits to both I guess.

Anyways, we had a some great lessons at church, and the kids had fun as always. While we were inside church there was a slight--very slight dusting of **snow**. It was the first flakes of snow the kids saw this season, they were pretty excited, even though it didn't even coat the ground at all.
Then off and running to my parents house for our weekly Sunday lunch. Yummy as usual! Thanks Dad for making our dinner even though you haven't been feeling very well. (He's having some issues with his gallbladder. He's having surgery on Wednesday. Hopefully that does the trick and he feels better soon!)
After lunch, we decorated Meme, Pepe and Aunt Valerie's Christmas Tree with them. The kids wore silly Santa and Elf hats! They had a grand old time picking out ornaments and putting them on the tree. Fun, fun, fun. It's always fun going through the old ornaments and reminiscing about old times. Super fun!

Next, Pepe had a surprise. He bought some Gingerbread Cookie decorating kit at the grocery store for the kids and Aunt Val to decorate. They had fun decorating their cookies and eating them too!! Yummmmy! Thanks Pepe, for thinking of us!
(I've got to upload these pics again later from my parents computer!)

Sunday afternoons are always such a fun time around here. We will definately miss them come next year when church is in the afternoon. Making memories together is so important and soooo much fun!
