The Dog Days of Summer!

Summer temperatures have finally arrived!! Yesterday was the first day temperatures reached 90 degrees since April! Can you believe that!? (I think today may have reached 90 degrees too!) Unfortunately, along with the 90 degree temperatures came the humidity! IKKK! I admit, even though the high temps and humidity just started, I'm ready for the cooler temps to come back!!

In between our summer activities (swimming lessons, lunch, day camp) we have been enjoying our central air conditioning and reading together. I love how Christopher enjoys reading to his sister!

Anneli has been enjoying day camp. She has missed her brother since they went together for the first two weeks, but she's having a blast! Here's a picture of how she fixed her hair special for camp yesterday.

I can't believe how much she has grown up. I remember dropping Christopher off at day camp when she was just a baby. Now I drop her off by herself!!! Where does the time go!?

Since Christopher isn't going to day camp this session, it has given us some one-on-one time. I love the time we spend together. We have been hanging out for the past week and a half swimming, reading, doing crafts, working on some math workbooks, shopping, snacking, writing in our journals, meeting dad for lunch/ice cream and playing games!

I'm so grateful for the quality time I have to spend with him this summer. It won't be long and hanging out with Mom might not be so cool...so everything else can wait, and we will have fun together now!

What a big guy! I still can't believe he'll be in second grade in a couple of weeks. Seriously, where does the time go!?!
