Last Saturday, August 1st, we had the opportunity to go to another New Britain Rockcats Game. For those of you who don't know, the Rockcats are the AA Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. It was Scout Day at the stadium, and since it rained the night before, it was a double header! We enjoy the baseball games, but we weren't sure how the kids would hold up to a double header--since deep down they think it's pretty boring!
I guess the incentive of a movie after the game and camping out on the baseball field after got them through it!
We woke up bright and early with scouts/parents snoring, birds singing and lots of clouds. We quickly dismantled our tents and said good-bye to our friends. We hopped in the car and drove home so I could shower! After I showered, we climbed back into the car and took a ride to the ME/NH Seacoast area. We ate at our usual Bob's Clam Hut. YUMMMMY!! I've got to have my seafood everytime we go!
Then we headed off to the beach! The kids had a blast, even though it was FREEZING!! Both the water and the air were cold that day, but that didn't stop them much...
Next, it was off to see the Cape Neddick Lighthouse. The kids always love to stop climb the rocks and get their picture taken...
Then we climbed back in the car and headed off to get some candy!! Salt Water Taffy from the Goldenrod is another must!! The kids aren't a fan of the taffy, but they like to watch how it's made and they love the penny candy in the back! They each got a good size bag of candy for $1.00! Fun, fun, fun!
Next, we enjoyed a visit with Grand Memere, Uncle Rick and Aunt Lisa. For dinner, we enjoyed pizza at Pizza Hut, since we don't have one near us! Then it was off to catch up with Memere and Jim for a quick visit. Thanks for playing BINGO with us Memere!!
Another fun filled weekend for the St. Lawrences! Never a dull moment around here!!!
