Crocs!

Anneli's new Crocs
(they are a bit big...she'll probably end up wearing her smaller purple ones from last year.)

After school Christopher, Anneli and I headed over to West Farms Mall. We were on a mission to buy Crocs at Nordstrom. We didn't have much luck. We got there, I thought the selection was okay, but Christopher was disappointed. He wanted silver crocs and they didn't have any. Anneli grabbed her pink crocs right away. She knew exactly what she wanted! We tried them on and ended up buying her a size 6/7, but they are a bit big for her. As for Christopher he wouldn't settle. He didn't even want to try anything on. We then went to the Croc Kiosk in the middle of the mall and he tried on a few pairs, but his foot is inbetween sizes and they didn't have the color he wanted in a size close enough to his size! UGH! Last year Christopher lived in his blue Crocs and Anneli lived in her little purple Crocs!! We'll have to check them out another day...when I have a little more patience!

Christopher & Anneli golfing this summer in their favorite shoes--their Crocs!

Why do we need the rain anyway?

I have an old song from Sesame Street in my head since it has been quite a rainy week! "It's raining outside, and I can't go out and play. Why do we need the rain anyway..." Like my neighbor says, "April showers bring May flowers!" I can't wait until May! No I can wait...I turn 30 in May and my baby turns 3! Don't you know I love the rain anyway?!

Here's a video of "Why do we need the rain anyway?" from YouTube that some of you may remember from the good old days on Sesame Street.

Go Ahead, Make Yourself at Home, Anneli!

Christopher, Anneli and I were at my parents house this evening and Ana was getting hungry. She just gets in their refrigerator and finds herself something to eat, as we were talking about what we were going to do for supper. Make yourself at home Anneli! I am glad that she does though! :) Notice her little legs are crossed...she's something else!

I'm not a "Cricuteer"!

After crafting today with my mothers Cricut machine again, I came to a conclusion. I don't think I'm going to be a "Cricuteer"! I've been struggling with the Disney Happily Ever After die cuts. Here are two that I have made so far.

Snow White was the first one I tried and it wasn't too bad, but I can't get the eyes to look right. I'll admit, it was a lot more work that I expected though. As for the Sleeping Beauty, notice she doesn't have eyes. I was getting fustrated so I didn't even do her eyes. I think I need to make her bigger next time--maybe the eyes will be easier then! They do say, "Practice makes perfect!" I hope so because Anneli really wants a Sleeping Beauty doll. I've got a lot of work to do to make Anneli's Princess Birthday Party invitations! UGH! Maybe I'll be a Cricuteer after all! yeah, right!

If anyone has any experience with the Cricut machine die cut stuff and knows how to do the eyes, please HELP!

JUMP!

Here are some pictures of the kids JUMPING on the Trampoline at my parents house this afternoon.

It's only Wednesday!?

The weather this week has been rather dreary and drizzly here in good old Connecticut. At least it was rain though, and not **snow**! Mem, and Ray, you both can keep the snow in NY--hopefully you have only been getting rain too!! I was sooo glad to see the sun shining and hear the birds singing outside my this morning! YIPPEE! I think this weather has been running me down, I've been sooo tired the past few days! (it's a combo of the weather and my heart medication.) With the sun shining I have more of a drive to do something today! No, Shaun, not laundry! ;)
Okay, I'll do the laundry!! Anyways this week I was so tired that I asked Shaun to come home a little early on Monday to take Christopher for a hair cut. He has spring pictures at school today so I wanted his hair fixed up a bit. He was excited because he thought he could talk Shaun and I into him getting a mohawk! I don't think so! Luckily Shaun took him and Anneli and I stayed home. They were gone a long time and I began to worry...they came in the door and I saw him...

His hair was a little shorter than I would have liked but it was okay I guess--no mohawk! He was rather disappointed he said he wanted a bald head or a mohawk so they compromised with a longer buzz. UGH!

Yesterday flew right by too. Anneli and I battled the drizzly weather and went over to my parents house to play with her Cricut Machine again. We made Snow White. I'll post a picture later but this is how it looked. click here We tried Sleeping Beauty, but we ran out of time. Then we raced to pick Christopher up from school. On our way there Anneli fell asleep! I tired her out!

After her little nap, Anneli was a monster! I was puttering around in the kitchen and I heard water running in the downstairs bathroom. She was giving her stuffed animals a bath! There were probably about six or seven stuffed animals--dolphins, penguins, elephants you name it--soaked and water was everywhere!! UGH! Sorry there are no pics, I wasn't very happy with her. It was dinner time and I didn't want to have to deal with water EVERYWHERE! We cleaned it up together--Christopher was a big helper as always picking up her mess! Thanks Christopher--what a great big brother! Then Christopher made a super April Fools Dinner with me for Shaun. He was so excited, Shaun was going to have dessert for dinner and not a traditional dinner. Here's a picture of what he made.

It was a yummy meatloaf with green potato frosting with carrott candles! YUMMMY! Shaun thought it was great and ate it all! Anneli was fooled for a minute--she thought it was real cake! She probably liked this cake better than real cake because potatoes are her favorite!!

After that it was bed time. Thank goodness!! We sat down to American Idol (one of Anneli's favorite shows)and Anneli sang until she fell asleep!

We're outta here!--APRIL FOOLS!!!!!

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Here we come!

Many of you know that we have been discussing that we need a change and we have finally just decided to just do it! We are selling our home and relocating to DUBAI, UAE next week! Crazy?! It's construction heaven there! They say that 25% of the worlds construction cranes are operating in Dubai. They are building some of the most imaculate buildings! Check out all the construction that is going on in Dubai by clicking HERE. It's amazing how fast Dubai is growing. Burj Al Arab (Arabic: برج العرب, literally, Tower of the Arabs)

Tallest building in the world!

As for the kids, Christopher is excited because he loves the architecture there. He can't wait to see all the tall pretty buildings! Especially the Burj Al Arab--his favorite building with the helicopter pad way up on top! Anneli will love the beaches! Education will not be a problem--it'll probably be better there than here in the United States! There are some great schools in Dubai like the American School of Dubai and the Al-Mizhar American Academy for Girls. It's super exciting! I'm looking forward to attending Eton Institute of Languages and adding a few more languages to my list! It will be such a fabulous experience.

We hope to catch up with you all soon!

GOTTCHA!!!
April Fools !!!
Did I have you believing??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
****I've never pulled an April Fools thing before, but this morning I typed up the above post about relocating to Dubai! It's something we've been throwing around, but Shaun would never go for it. I can't even get him to take a vacation outside the United States! At about 2:30 pm I got a frantic phone call from my sisters on a three way call! I talk to Jess almost everyday and Valerie a couple times a week and they totally thought it was for real. Their expressions were priceless! APRIL FOOLS! I better watch out, they are going to get me back!
