Santa at the Fire Station

Last night we had our traditional visit with Santa Claus at our town Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Fire Station. As always it was a great time! This year, Christopher and Shaun went inside the fire station to wait in the long line to see Santa with one of Christopher's friends. Anneli and I waited outside at the edge of the road in front of the fire station for Santa's arrival. Santa arrives full of Christmas Cheer high up on the Ladder Truck, sirens wailing, waving to everyone through the center of town until he reaches the anticipating crowd at the Fire Station. Then Santa climbs down the ladder truck with help from our wonderful volunteer Firemen! I don't know who got more excited last night when we saw him come down the street on the fire truck---Anneli or me! Actually our entire towns people looked pretty happy with his arrival! What a nice site to see with such economic hardship out there! We then race inside and waited so we could have our turn to visit and get some pictures with Santa.

Santa is awesome! He takes his time and talks to each child, making them feel pretty special! This year was the first year that nobody cried!!! YIPPEE! Anneli climbed right up onto his lap and acted like she liked him. She really was afraid, but you couldn't really tell! She told him what she wanted and that she liked his "big boots". Great job Santa! We even heard her telling Christopher that Santa was really nice! Every year it gets better and better! It almost feels like Christmas....all we need now is a little ***SNOW***...I know, careful what I wish for!
