Aunt Donna & Uncle Jim's Anniversary Party!

Oh my goodness, time sure flies! Today we were able to travel to Massachusetts and celebrate Aunt Donna & Uncle Jim's 25th Wedding Anniversary. Uncle Jim's parents decided to surprise them early, since their anniversary is September 15th. They were very surprised and happy to see everyone there! It was great to see everyone---even some people I haven't seen probably since the wedding 25 years ago!! Super fun day!

Christopher, my little photographer, took a bunch of great pictures so here they are...

These Things don't Happen Here.....

After our Girl Scout Camporee, we decided to take a ride to see the Tornado devastation in Central Massachusetts. Since I was born and raised in Brookfield, Massachusetts (just outside Sturbridge) the tornado hit too close to home for me. It was crazy to see the damage...These things just don't happen here. It's more of a midwest thing.....not anymore...

Girl Scout Camporee

This weekend was the Girl Scout Camporee. We had heard about how fun it was so we signed up as a family, even though nobody else from my Daisy Troop was interested. They are a little young. Anyway, things were crazy this week and Anneli wasn't feeling well. Stupid Lyme Disease! We decided not to sleep out on Friday night, but we would get there Saturday morning and hang out for the day.
That is just what we did. We got there at about 8:30am and went on a hike with our 5th Grade Junior Friends. They happen to have a son that Christopher knows from Cub Scouts too! It was fun.

Next up was stations where the kids did a bunch of different arts and craft projects. They were fun too!

The best part of the day was when they opened the waterfront! It was SUPER hot! We all had a blast using the kayaks and paddle boats! Super fun!

The kids also fished with our neighbors. Thanks Rosa and Tal! :)

The kids, especially Anneli, was exhausted after that! So we piled in the car and took a quick ride to Massachusetts to check out the Tornado devastation in central Massachusetts. It was terrible! It has hard to believe that as you drove through the streets of Sturbridge, Brimfield, Monson and Springfield that you were in Massachusetts. These types of disasters happen in the midwest, not here in our backyard....

Graduation party in Massachusetts

On Saturday was my cousin Laurie and Matt's High School Graduation Celebration in Massachusetts. Anneli went up with my parents and we joined them after Christopher's soccer game. Laurie graduated yesterday (Sunday, 6/1). I love how Massachusetts has graduation on the first Sunday of the month! Matt lives in New York and he doesn't graduate until later in June. Congratulations Graduates!
It was nice to see everyone there! It's tough now that eveyone has pretty much moved out of Massachusetts, we don't see everyone as often as we used to! It was great to see you Aunt Di and Uncle Kenny! They flew in from Nashville, Tennesee for their daughter Lauries graduation--they relocated to TN almost a year ago when her job transfered there. The kids had fun seeing everyone and playing with Uncle Jim and Aunt Donna. Christopher had fun with a gum chewing contest with Aunt Valerie. He had seven pieces of gum in his mouth at one time! Anneli was also missing for a few minutes after getting in trouble. She had locked herself in the bathroom! Super fun times! Here are some pictures from the party.
