Our Daddy Day--on Saturday!

On Saturday we all, Christopher, Anneli, Shaun, my parents and I piled into my parents Mini-Van and we were off! We drove up to Portsmouth, NH and picked up Grandpa and took him to Bob's Clam Hut--one of my favorite spots in Maine! It was yummy as always!! I LOVE that place! We then piled back in the van and drove to York Beach. First the kids got out and ran to the water and jumped in clothes and all! Christopher and Anneli LOVED the beach as usual! They both just got right in. No fear! Christopher was having a blast riding waves.

Yes, I know it is sort of backwards, but we then took the kids to the bath house and put their swim suits on. We thentook a walk along the water. Then the kids, along with my mother and Shaun explored the rocks, looking for crabs while Shaun's dad and my dad watched us as they talked.

After exploring the beach, we got back in the van and took the short drive to the Nubble Lighthouse. Definately another must stop for us whenever we visit the area! Luckily the tide was low so we got to climb on the rocks. The kids had a blast climbing! Thanks Grandpa for answering so many of Christopher's questions!

After a fun filled day together, we dropped Grandpa off at his home in Portsmouth and we piled back in the car for the long ride home! Thanks to everyone for such a super fun Dad Day! :)

Happy Father's Day Dad!

What Makes a Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
He called it ...
Dad
