The LONG Weekend Wrap-Up

Let's see, where do we start...weekends, especially long holiday weekends, are usually super busy around here, and I usually take too many pictures! This weekend was no exception!

We ended our cRaZy Friday by having dinner at Friendly's. Saturday morning came pretty fast when there are four in the bed! Shaun made us Blueberry Pancakes for breakfast, they were super yummmy! Thanks Shaun!!! I'm so glad that we went berry picking last month, but it's so hard keeping them in our freezer--we think about them constantly and they are sooooo yummy! I puttered around the house giving poor Christopher another breathing treatment, while Shaun did Anneli's hair in cute double braids. She looked like Pocahontas! Way to go Shaun!!
Then we piled into the car and headed off to Meriden Square Mall and the kids picked out new shoes for school. Luckily, we had picked everything else up, but I saved shoes until the last minute because Christopher's feet are growing SOOOO fast! He picked out another pair of Adidas sneakers and a pair of brown dressy shoes. Anneli was another story! I wanted her to try on a pair of sneakers--she HATED them! Then I tried to get her to try on a pair of cute little black dress shoes--she didn't want any part of them either because she spotted boots. She tried on a pair of black boots and a pair of brown boots. She insisted on buying both of them! UGH! We told her she could get a pair of sneakers and one pair of boots. That smarty pants put the sneakers away and said she would just get both pair of boots! Well we decided, Shaun and I, that she would get the brown boots and a pair of black dress shoes. She was not a happy camper when we left the mall. Two days later, and she's still talking about the "Black Boots" that we left at the mall.

Then off we went to Meme and Pepe's house to meet up with Aunt Val and Johann. We ended up having a cook-out at the house since Meme wasn't feeling well. We had fun watching baseball and building with blocks.

Then we came home so I could go over my talk I had to give at church the next morning.

Sunday came and we went to church. Later that evening we headed with Aunt Val and Johann up to Woodstock, CT so we could take Johann to the Woodstock Fair. He has never been to a Country Fair like that and we wanted him to experience all the good old smells and sights for himself. While there we got to see Smashmouth in concert. I'm not a huge fan, but I was surprised I recognized quite a few songs! The kids loved the concert--Anneli loved dancing and Christopher loved watching from Shaun's shoulders where he took some pictures! Super fun times!
While at the fair, we walked all around checking out the animals, the prized vegetables, a really cool sand castle, the antique cars,
and of course tractors!

On Monday, we had our Second Annual Labor Day St. Lawrence Heublein tower Hike! This year Meme, Pepe, Aunt Val and Johann joined us! Check out all the pictures...

What a great weekend!~
