Kindergarten Trip to Dairy Queen!!

YUMMMMM YUMMMMM YUMMMMMMY!

Today it was pretty HOT! Anneli's Kindergarten class was scheduled to go on a Spring Walk and a trip to one of our favorites---Dairy Queen!! :) It was too hot for the spring walk, so we just walked straight to Dairy Queen and enjoyed a super yummy dish of ice cream!!! Everyone had a super time---even if it was hot and sunny!

Kindergarten Three Piggy Opera!

Today, Anneli's Kindergarten class performed the Three Piggy Opera at school. Meme was there and Aunt Valerie, Pepe, Daddy and even Christopher came to watch! I was lucky enough to be on stage with the kids playing the piano for them! Those "Three Piggy Opera" songs have been in my head for WEEKS!! :) Anneli and her friends did a super job!

Anneli's Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Hooper, is retiring this year, after 33 years of teaching. Anneli surprised her and sang her a song, "American Tears" after the 3 Piggy Opera performance. Anneli learned the song a bit in class with Mrs. Hooper. She did a GREAT job and we were so proud of her getting up in front of all the parents that were there.

Way to go Anneli!

The first picture below is of Anneli singing during the morning performance. She is in afternoon kindergarten, but when your mom plays the piano for both sessions of Kindergarten, you have to sing in both performances---whether you like it or not! :)
The rest of the pictures are of the afternoon Kindergarten performance...

This is Anneli getting ready to sing her solo, "American Tears"...See Memere in the back?? She's a K-PM Para! :)

Great Job, Anneli!

Anneli's Fall Walk

It was a super chilly day! Look at the sky!!A little cold for a walk, I thought, but Anneli's teacher and I took the kids on a 'Fall Walk'. We bundled everyone up with coats, hats & gloves and off we went to explore the signs of spring around the neighborhood. After observing/collecting 'signs of fall' and it feeling like winter, we took the kids to the High School track. There the kids had the opportunity to run around the track--for fun and to keep warm!
Look at Anneli stretching before she runs....her daddy would have been proud! :) I felt like running with them to keep warm---not necesarily to run, since I am NOT a runner!! :) The kids had a great time and we got everyone back to the warm school safe and sound just in time to board the buses to go home!

Kindergartens Minor's Farm Pumpkin Trip

Today I went with Anneli and her class to Minor's Farm. Minor's Farm is the home to Daisy the Pig. Daisy is a famous pig that loves to read!! We've seen her quite a few times--she has even visited our Library with Farmer Minor! You can read more about her and Farmer Minor here. It was a little chilly with some dark looking clouds, but we stayed dry and had a great time
on a hay ride

riding in a cow pulled by a tracter

finding our way through a maze
pickin' a pumpkin

getting our picture taken

riding bikes

playing on blow up bouncy toys
enjoying a snack

and a ride home on the 'luxury bus'!

What a fun day!

First Day of Summer & Last Day of School

Summer is finally here!!! Hip Hip Horray!

It also happens to be Christopher's last day of Kindergarten, which means our big guy is now technically a First Grader! Can you imagine...Way to go Christopher! Here is a picture of him waiting for the bus on his last day of Kindergarten... He had mixed emotions--he was a little sad for Kindergarten to end, but he's excited for summer vacation!!

Let's jump back in time and see him on his First Day of Kindergarten.

Oh, how our Chris has grown...

Kindergarten Trip to the Public Library!

Yesterday, Aunt Valerie, Anneli and I joined Christopher and his Kindergarten class for a walk to the public library. I was braindead and carried my camera all the way to the library to find out that I forgot my Compact Flash card in my computer at home! UGH! Heck--I'm just getting over strep throat--that's my excuse! Oh well, I took some crappy shots with my cell phone. It was a fun day! I'm glad we were able to go! Thanks Aunt Val for coming with us!

School is almost out for the summer--7 more days!!!
Then Christopher & his classmates will be 1st graders!!
Can you imagine that!?!

Field Day!

As soon as Christopher got on the bus today, Anneli jumped in her stroller and off we went to Christopher's Kindergarten Field Day at school. It was such a beautiful day! I'm so fortunate to be home during the day to be able to go and share these special times with him. He (and his friends) enjoy having me come to participate and help. Thanks Shaun! Anneli loved it too because she could join in with the Kindergarteners. Heck, she thinks she's one of them! The best part for Christopher would have to be that his class beat the other two Kindergarten classes at Tug-o-War! The 13 kids in Mrs. Hooper's class are super strong! Anneli's favorite part was the orange popsicle she had at the very end. What a great day! :)
