BFF -- (Best Friends Forever)

A week ago today (June 5th--yes I've been slacking on the Blog--but I sooo had to include this!) Aunt Valerie watched Anneli while I went on Christopher's First Grade Field Trip. They had a great 'Girl's Day'. They went to the mall!! For those of you who don't know Anneli too well--she LOVES to shop, so this was a super great day! While at the mall Aunt Valerie and her picked out matching BFF (Best Friend Forever) Necklaces. She was sooooo excited to show me them!!! What a lucky little girl to have the BEST BFF Aunt Valerie!!!

Thanks Aunt Valerie you are the BEST!!!!

Last Day of Soccer!

Today was the end of the year Soccer Party with Pizza, snacks and a metal.
It's too bad, he's not sure if he wants to play soccer again in the fall. I hope he does---even though there are times when I am not a big fan of evening soccer practices or Saturday games...

It looks like he's having fun though, doesn't it!?

Run, Kitty, Run!!

This morning we had some friends from church over. The girls, Anneli and her friend Elisabeth, had a blast playing with play dough, Littlest Pet Shop, stuffed animals, and of course with our kitty Wink. They got Wink to sit in a stroller and they pushed her around and around the house. It was funny to see how the cat would hold on to the stroller, but she didn't jump out right away! We couldn't ask for a better cat!

Watching Anneli play with Wink reminded me of my cat when I was growing up. I was probably about her age and I had a calico cat named Dusty. I'm not sure if Dusty liked it, but she tolerated strolls in my doll carriage, being put to bed in a baby cradle and wearing dresses and hats. What fun my sister Jess and I had with our kitty! I'm so glad that Anneli can have a friend like that too! :)
Did you ever have a special pet like 'Wink' and 'Dusty'?

Didn't he do a great job!?! I'm so proud of him!

Take note...there are no people in his pictures--only animals! :)

Last Day of Preschool!

Today was Anneli's last day of Preschool until September! (The school year sure flew by this year!) She was a little disappointed to find out she was NOT going to be going to Kindergarten next year. She is going to go back to Preschool at TCC/ECC. Poor girl, she really wants to go to Christopher's school. To her time is dragging, but for me it's flying! Before I know it she will be starting Kindergarten!!
She was excited though. All week she was working on her Teacher Gifts. She even told them on Tuesday that she was making them magnets. I love little kids! She made them four glass magnets and decorated a little box to put them in. She loves to do crafts, which was a good thing because she has five teachers! She did a great job and was so excited to give them to her teachers. Of course they loved them!!

Do you give gifts to your children's teachers at the end of the year? If so, what do you give them?

Tour of Nutmeg TV

Last Tuesday, Shaun took his den to tour Nutmeg TV here in town. Nutmeg TV is an independent, non profit corporation that manages the local access television stations for a bunch of towns in our area (Avon, Berlin, Bristol, Burlington, Canton, Farmington, New Britain, and Plainville).

While we were there, we learned that anyone is eligible to create or provide television programs and they can be aired on one of Nutmeg TV's three cable channels. They teach you how to operate the TV Production equipment and how to create programs. After learning this, Christopher has been thinking..."What kind of show can I create? Maybe a documentary on Whales." Of course!!! Christopher has a great love and knowledge of all things Whales. Most everything he reads or studies has to do with them!!

It won't take him long before he does create his documentary since he's already wrote TONS (and I mean TONS) of books on the subject, created a power point presentation and tons of posters on the subject. I'm sure that is what we will be working on this summer...fun, fun, fun! Maybe he'll be famous...
Christopher is standing next to the guy giving the tour. He is so excited in this picture as he ponders his documentary...

In this picture you can see that Anneli is an honorary Tiger Cub Scout and is enjoying the tour too!! If she's lucky, maybe she can be Christopher's assistant in the documentary...

Stay Tuned...
