My Artists

Christopher had a half day today--actually a shortened day. I picked him up at 1:30pm and we headed over to AC Moore--one of our favorite stores--to pick up a few things to finish his magnets for his teacher. I wish I took a picture of them. He made magnets like Anneli made her teachers, but he didn't use decorative scrapbook paper. He used dolphin stickers on two magnets and then he drew an Orca Whale on one and a flower on another. Great thinking Christopher!! Ms. Neave will love them!!

The kids also decorated picture frames. Christoher painted a blue one for his good friend Zak and decoupaged one with striped scrapbook paper for his teacher. (Wish I took a picture of that one too! It was beautiful!) Anneli still has hers, but I'm sure she'll end up giving it to her BFF Aunt Val. She wants to give everything to her!

More Crafts!

Even though Christopher has been sick all week, we have been crafting, since March is National Craft Month! We hope you all have been crafting too!!
Here is a picture of a Family Picture Frame Christopher made for a Tiger Cub Scout Elective. The cub scouters made these frames with Shaun on Tuesday night. Christopher made this one as an example since he wasn't feeling well this week. The picture frame is made of jumbo popcicle sticks and he decorated it with rub on stickers. (Some kids used foam stickers to decorate it too.) We attached a thin manly ribbon so the boys could hang it in their room. We also gave an option of putting magnets on it, so the kids could hang it on their refrigerators for everyone to see!
Anneli was busy this week making pretty decorated Glass Magnets. We used a variety of pretty scrapbook paper, flat clear glass marbles, (You know the kid you put on the bottom of flower arrangements.) glue and magnets. She did a great job tracing the flat marbles and cutting out the circles and gluing them on the flat side of the marble. Then she was so excited to add the magnet and stick them to the refrigerator! We don't want to ruin any surprises, since she wants to give them out as gifts, but here's a picture of one of her pretty magnets!

I love to do crafts with Christopher and Anneli! It gives us a chance to spend quality time together, help their development and to let their creative juices flow! Stay tuned to see what we'll make next...

Wouldn't you love to get one of these super creative, colorful cards in the mail!?

Crafty Kid!

Yesterday, while we were waiting for Christopher at his 'Pool Play' activity, Anneli was quite crafty! I brought a bunch of beads, cord, and clasps so Anneli could string beads and make necklaces and bracelets. Thanks 'Soup Mem' (& Aunt Di!) for the beautiful beads! It was a great idea! She was very creative, making a necklace, a bracelet and a 'flea collar' for 'White Kitty'!

It kept her busy for the entire hour as we waited on the bleachers at the pool for Christopher to finish! What can we do next time?? Any suggestions?!

March - National Craft Month

March is National Craft Month! We love crafts here in the St. Lawrence Household! All kind of crafts! This is a perfect chance to spend quality time together. It's also an easy way to reduce stress, to learn something new, to build self-esteem and to just have fun! Last night, while we were waiting for Shaun to get home from work, we created some creative CD Animals! We saw an idea online, and got creative with our own ideas! Check out our CD Creatures!!Christopher's Turtle! Anneli's Turtle. I love the orange spots! :)
Christopher's 'Killer Whale'! (Of course!) His own creation! Very creative Christopher!!
Anneli's 'Lady Bug'! Great job Anneli!
Christopher's 'Ostridge'! Another one of his own creations!! Way to go Chris!!
