Crafty Kid!

Yesterday, while we were waiting for Christopher at his 'Pool Play' activity, Anneli was quite crafty! I brought a bunch of beads, cord, and clasps so Anneli could string beads and make necklaces and bracelets. Thanks 'Soup Mem' (& Aunt Di!) for the beautiful beads! It was a great idea! She was very creative, making a necklace, a bracelet and a 'flea collar' for 'White Kitty'!

It kept her busy for the entire hour as we waited on the bleachers at the pool for Christopher to finish! What can we do next time?? Any suggestions?!

Mad Dash Monday!

What a long day! To start off, we had a super hard time waking up! The time change was rough, and the dreary, rainy day sure didn't help! Luckily, we managed to get Christopher up, out the door, and off to school, on time! Yippee!
  • Anneli and I raced home to take showers, get dressed, and catch up on laundry, dishes and other things around the house.
  • Then it was off to school for a 'Read In' at Christopher's school. It made me remember when I read to his Kindergarten Class last year. Fortunately, nobody was sick this year! It was fun reading with Christopher and his good friend 'Zee'.

  • After school, it was time for Christopher's 'Pillo Polo' game. What is Pillo Polo you ask? Pillo Polo is sort of played like Hockey, but it is played with sticks with foam on one end. They sort of remind me of one sided Q-tips. It's a great way for Christopher and his friends to get their energy out! What a super recreation activity!

  • Next stop, home for supper! Then we were off and running again to the High School Pool for Christopher's 'Pool Play' activity! Pool Play is just a time for Christopher to get together with other kids in town to play some high energy games in the pool! He was one of the smallest kids, but he did awesome! Way to go Christopher!! :)

  • Finally, it was time to come home, unwind and go to bed!! What an active day for Christopher! :)

March - National Craft Month

March is National Craft Month! We love crafts here in the St. Lawrence Household! All kind of crafts! This is a perfect chance to spend quality time together. It's also an easy way to reduce stress, to learn something new, to build self-esteem and to just have fun! Last night, while we were waiting for Shaun to get home from work, we created some creative CD Animals! We saw an idea online, and got creative with our own ideas! Check out our CD Creatures!!Christopher's Turtle! Anneli's Turtle. I love the orange spots! :)
Christopher's 'Killer Whale'! (Of course!) His own creation! Very creative Christopher!!
Anneli's 'Lady Bug'! Great job Anneli!
Christopher's 'Ostridge'! Another one of his own creations!! Way to go Chris!!

Stay tuned for other crafts we do this month...

Happy Crafting!!!!!

Take Me Back Tuesday

Oh how time flies...
March 2006

Oh my little Christopher and Anneli. They sure have grown up so much since then... Sometimes it's hard to remember when they were that small and needy. Now they are reading chapter books, writing their names, going to school and very independent. I'm glad I have memories, and these pictures to look back and remember how quickly they grow. Before I know it, they'll be driving, graduating from High School, off to college, married and having their own precious little ones! UGH! I hope and pray that I can take time to enjoy every second with them, before it's too late...Oh how time flies...
**Take note of the weather...there was NO SNOW, and they are in sweatshirts! :)

Contradance!

On Saturday night, we headed over to our Church for a super fun family activity--Contradancing!

What is Contradancing you ask?
Basically Contra Dancing is a form of American Folk Dancing. A caller calls the dances sometimes in two parellel lines or circles--he tells you what to do and you follow! It's great for individuals, partners and a great activitiy for families! Click
here for a full definition.
We went last year and it was sooo much fun that we were excited to participate again! It was a lot of fun dancing and having fun with family and friends! What an enjoyable group activity. Everyone was happy, laughing and smiling the entire time!Except maybe when it was over...
Anneli didn't want to leave, but she was EXHAUSTED!

Get Moving Night

Last night, Aunt Valerie was kind enough to take Christopher to his 'Get Moving Night' at his school. We were having some friends from Church over, and Christopher didn't want to miss it so he asked Aunt Val if she could take him. We went last year, and it was a lot of fun! CLICK HERE to see last year's 'Get Moving Night'.

Basically it's a night of 'specials'. First you register and you and your family are assigned a group. Then your group rotates through three different 'specials': gym, art, and music. It's always a fun time!

In Art, Christopher and Aunt Valerie made and decorated Paper Airplanes. Then they got a chance to fly them! Super fun! :)
He's drawing a Whale on his airplane, of course!

In Music, he had the opportunity to play the drums. Aunt Valerie said he's a pretty sweet drummer!
In Gym, he and Aunt Valerie bowled! Good thing he practiced last week during school vacation! :)

It looks like a fun evening! Thanks Aunt Valerie for taking him and dragging my camera along! the pictures came out awesome! You are the best! We'll definately miss you when you go off to law school next year. What ever will we do without you... ;)
