Snow & Stones....

This morning school was canceled again due to snow. It was canceled the night before so we knew we didn't have to get up and check. Anyways, I was awoken early with the worst side/back pain. I thought it was just the weather because that's what happens to me sometimes ever since I had back surgery, but this was in a different spot and it hurt REALLY BAD! I woke Shaun up and told him I had to go the the ER. He jumped in the shower and the kids got ready and off we jumped into the van. We were going to drop the kids off at my parents house, but it hurt too bad and the road conditions--because of the snow storm--wasn't good either. UGH! We made it to the hospital, where my mom came and picked up the kids. It was a Kidney Stone! It made me laugh--even though the pain was excruciating, because my dad had just passed one a week or so before and I was teasing him! UGH! I'll never tease anyone ever again! Passing a Kidney Stone was the worst pain EVER!!! UGH! Lucky me, I was told I have one more.......Yippeee...... :(

What Was I Thinking!!?!?!

I had big plans to renovate the kids bedrooms upstairs this summer! My plan was to empty everything from upstairs, rip out the carpet (since it bothers Christopher's skin), paint the walls in both rooms, install hardwood flooring throughout the upstairs and then decorate the kids rooms according to their wishes.

With our trip to Pennsylvania, the kids trip to SC, swimming lessons, camp, and playdates, when have I had time do to anything upstairs!?!? UGH!! So far I emptied all their 'stuff' from their room--just not their beds. Today I started to rip up the carpet while they were at camp. It's not going to be a bad job, I just need to find the time to do it...

What was I thinking!?!? This is sooooo not a job for the summer!

Wish me luck!!!

A Weekend without Kids: what to do!?

Since Christopher and Anneli left Friday night with my parents and Valerie for South Carolina, we had a whole weekend without kids! Whatever were we going to do!? We started off Saturday morning going for breakfast. Okay, I admit, we eat out a lot, but NEVER breakfast because of Christopher's egg allergy. Breakfast really isn't the safest meal for him at a restaurant. It was nice having a nice breakfast out--french toast, eggs, bacon....yummm!!

After breakfast we decided to take a ride down to New London to Sailfest. We walked around people watching and enjoying the music. Then we took a sail on the Quinnipiack. It was a beautiful day (No rain--woo hoo!!!) and a lot of fun! Shaun even helped to put up the sail!! Of course I left my camera at home, but we got a few shots with my cell phone.
UGH! I have more pictures I want to upload, but I can't get them from my phone to my computer! UGH! Guess I'll have to try to upload them later...

Breaking Dawn

I was up sick last night, so Shaun took the kids to Church and I slept in and finished my new book that came out Saturday, Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. What a great series! I just wish I didn't read them all so fast...

I am a soccer Mom.

Okay, I was reading an article on the Fourth of July in the Hartford Courant at my parents house titled Tastes Change But Capris Endure. This article says that it's the year of the dress. (and the skirt and the white jeans and the leggings and the really short shorts and the really long shorts...) Yet, it is not the year of capris, since they weren't seen on the big screen in "Sex and the City". However, according to a lady at Glamour magazine "Capri pants are always a Gamour Do." I thought "Great!!" since I was wearing one of my favorite pair of Khaki Capris with a Solid Green T-Shirt with ankle socks and a pair of gym sneakers. I continued to read the article and the last few sentences caught my eye and had me laughing!
"The worst thing you can do is pair them with ankle socks and gym sneakers," she
says. "You'll instantly be targeted as a soccer mom." Is that such a
bad thing?

Great! I guess that confirms it...I am officially a soccer mom!

Have you missed me?!?!?

It's been a little over a week since I've posted last! I'm not a slacker, I've been sick with strep throat. I have never felt so crappy! It started on Friday night and I had to go to an emergency clinic on Saturday. I'm feeling a lot better than this weekend. Now I am just very tired and my throat is bothering me slightly still. So far we've been lucky and selfish---nobody else in the house has gotten it yet! Thanks to Shaun, my parents, Valerie, the Emergency Clinic and Central Air I'm doing so much better today!

Round number two at the Hair Spa!

My haircut from this morning wasn't short enough for me, so I went back to the Hair Spa and they shortened it up for me. Shaun thinks I look sophisticated! I love it! It's totally me! What do YOU think?!

A morning at the Hair Spa...

The three of us, Christopher, Anneli and I, all went to the Hair Spa today! That's the salon that Jessica used to work at while she was in High School. Christopher and I had our hair cuts and Anneli had her hair put in two pretties! Here are our pictures! The kids were very good there playing and getting their hair done! Fun, Fun, Fun! :) Mine isn't as drastic as I thougth I wanted, but I didn't realize how long my hair was until she started cutting and cutting and I saw it all on the floor!

Here are the kids standing with their BIG Pumpkins! :)
