"Sister Susie Sitting on a Thistle..."

I don't have very many pictures of Christopher during the 100 Cupcake Celebration, because as he was taking a bite of his cupcake... His last remaining front tooth fell out and he headed off to the nurse!! (Not sure if you can tell, in the above picture he is holding his tooth in his hand to show me as blood is dripping from his mouth!)
He was so excited! The school nurse, who is super nice, gave him a tiny treasure box for his tooth so it wouldn't get lost.
Look at that smile! He was hoping his tooth would fall out at school! :)

The Tooth Fairy made a vist on Thursday Evening and here is what she brought.

He brought it in to share with his classmates and his teacher told them all about the Silver Coin and Canada, where the silver coin came from! I love the Tooth Fairy! ;)

FYI --Even without his two front teeth that boy can still whistle!! (For those of you who don't know, Christopher is a BIG whistler. He whistles ALL the time!) I was hoping we'd get a little break...no such luck! :)

Did You Miss Us?!

I can't believe I haven't posted in over a week--except our Thanksgiving Thursday of course!! What a week we had! I started out not feeling good last weekend. Just a cold, but they can kick your butt and last forever! I wish I could say that we had a boring week away from Blogging, but it sure wasn't boring around here! Here are some highlights...

On Friday, November 21st, Christopher lost his first front tooth! It was late evening and Christopher and Anneli were playing nicely on the computer together while I was watching the news. Then all of a sudden I heard screaming and Christopher was running down the hallway. He came to me and his mouth was all blood! I noticed right away that one of his front tooth was GONE! He was laughing at this point as he told me that he was going to bite his sister, but had bit her Christmas necklace she was wearing instead and his tooth came flying out! Ha--he deserved that one!
The Tooth Fairy came to our house that night and brought a Susan B. Anthony dollar coin and a coin from Bermuda. Super fun!

Let's see...Thanksgiving Week...

On Tuesday, I went shopping to one of my favorite stores, AC Moore to pick up some stickers for Shaun and Christopher's Cub Scout Den Meeting. They were going to make Holiday Mail for Heroes who are abroad this holiday season. Anyways, I didn't spend much, about $10 to be exact. As usual, I didn't have any cash on me so I pulled out my Check Card. Much to my surprise it was REJECTED! I couldn't understand why! I knew there was plenty of money in our account! I called Shaun, he thought it was because he just activated his new card the day before and maybe mine expired too. I wasn't too sure so I went home and looked up our account online! ALL our money, and more was GONE--or should I say being held on a Mastermoney hold! I called the bank and they told me that there were multiple transactions made that very day at a Home Depot in Ohio in the process of being cleared. What?! They weren't our transactions. To make a long story short, someone in Ohio was using a fake card (since we had both our cards in CT!!)with our Check Card Account numbers on it! They made three nice purchases and we paid for them! UGH! The bank wasn't too helpful about the whole thing, but Shaun got paid the next day so we were all set as long as the crooks couldn't get back into our account and wipe us out again. So our account was frozen for the entire holiday weekend. It's terrible not being able to get money out of your account, except through a teller! I miss my Check Card!!!

The rest of the week was pretty quiet. I was just getting over my cold and was pretty worn out, so we cleaned the house and baked pies for Thanksgiving later in the week. Anneli had a blast helping Aunt Valerie and I with Thanksgiving pies.

Apple Pie

Pumpkin Pie

Aunt Val's Lemon Meringue Pie

Can't forget the Rice Krispie Treats for Christopher!

Stay tuned for our Thanksgiving Day update!

Missing Teeth!

This morning I awoke to Christopher running into my bedroom yelling, "My tooth! It's in my hand!" I looked at the clock, it was only 5am--Shaun had left for the gym a little while ago. I told him to put his tooth on a tissue on my bedside table and rinse his mouth out and jump in bed with Anneli and I. Yes, Anneli gets in our bed EVERY night--but that is a blog post in itself! He did so and came back to bed and slept until about 7am. Thank goodness! He was a little disappointed that the Tooth Fairy didn't come while he slept from 5am-7am. I told him that I think she comes around midnight and he'd have to wait until tomorrow night.
Heck-- I needed time to prepare! Our Tooth Fairy brings Gold (A $1 US President Coin) and a coin or bill from another country! It's been a fun learning experience, and he can't wait to see what country his money will be from tonight!
I just can't believe that he's only 5 years old and has already lost 4 teeth! Well, it's off to get into our safe and see what country coin/bill will be left tonight...

This is what he got in his little red pouch a few weeks ago.

Busy as a bee...

On Thursday, Shaun and I had the opportunity to visit Christopher's Kindergarten class for Open House. We were able to see his teacher, check out his classroom and meet some of his friends. As you can see by the photo he was VERY HAPPY to show us his classroom and the things that he likes to do at school! He likes his teacher, Mrs. Hooper, he loves Science, and is starting to make new friends like Emily. He is a very smart little man. When the teacher went around the room to ask the kids their Dreams and Hopes for the year they all basically said to learn their ABC's, write their name and he said, "To be able to read harder books." The list of all their hopes and dreams is posted on a poster in the classroom. He has been working on his sight words and is doing very well. When we read to him he does recognize a few words here and there. He is also doing very well learning the sounds that the letters make. They haven't started doing that in school yet but they will later in the year! He is growing sooo fast!! :)

The above picture is a photo of Christopher's "ALL ABOUT ME" poster. He is very creative starting with the shape of the poster--"A TRAIN"! As you can see he included photos of himself, his family, Karate with Joshu, that he likes to draw, his fish "Speedy", his cousins:Cole, Carter, Alexander, Elizabeth and Bryce, that he likes to go to the beach and visit family in Maine, that he lies to go on vacation with his Meme and Pepe, he likes to be silly with Aunty Valerie, that he lives in Connecticut, he likes animals and that he wants to be a Train Driver when he grows up! He had so much fun with this first Kindergarten Assignment!

Yesterday Christopher went to the dentist for his 6 month cleaning and Dr. Nadeau told him that his two bottom teeth are loose!! Above is a photo of his cute little smile and all his teeth. He wanted a picture of his teeth before he starts "getting holes in his teeth" as he called it! So take a good look--he might be singing, "All I want for Christmas is my two bottom teeth"...

Last night Shaun and Christopher went on a Father / Son Campout with Church. Above is a picture of Chris in front of the line of tents early yesterday evening. He was soooooo excited coming home from school and having Shaun come home early. They packed the car and away they went! He had fun playing with some of his friends from Church. They have been going since Christopher was 18 months old. It's always a special time for the two of them! :)
